The title is a variation of the Halloween custom of trick or treating.
On the front door window of the hotel used for the retreat, the logo for Omni Consumer Products from the movie Robocop is found facing inward under the American flag -which, oddly, is also facing inward. The retreat was in response to Jim Dial leaving FYI to protest the network's refusal in running a story which may expose them to unwanted litigation, thus corrupting the ethics and sanctity of broadcast news (at that time)
