When Uncle Martin (Ray Walston) drops the divining sticks on the table in the presence of Jakobar (Charles Maxwell), three of the sticks fall relatively near one another, but the fourth stick skitters away from the other three, something that can be seen even in the medium shot of the scene without freeze-framing. Nevertheless, when the shot switches to a close-up, all four sticks are together and arranged in the correct pattern.
The divining sticks uncle Martin uses are glued together, which can be seen when they are lying on the table.
