Bill: Being loved isn't enough for me anymore. I need to *give* love. I need a baby; end of story.
Dave: Couldn't you just get a puppy?
Bill: I had one; it ran away.
Dave: Well, then get a cat!
Bill: Had one - ran away.
Dave: Get a fish!
Bill: Had one - asphyxiated while trying to run away. Strangest thing!

When the characters lose, we all win
Bill's announcement that he's having a baby is the main attraction of 'Look Who's Talking' (which naturally leaves the staff confuse and Dave incredulous) and it's exactly what you'd expect from a Bill story line; an inflated ego complemented by classic McNeal petulance. The ending of which is completely fitting on all fronts.
But it's the other story that brings me the most laughs. Jimmy James' enlists Beth's help to make him look good at a charity bachelor auction (portrait of Vicki Lewis hamming it up as bourgeoisie) and the look on Mr. James' face is perfect when Beth's M.I.A. and it's Joe doing the bidding. As ruined plans go, it's a beauty.
