Emotionally nuanced and satisfying.

This entire series, just like James Garner's other criminally short-lived series, his Maverick revival, was Vastly underrated. It certainly was deserving of more than one season, and this episode testifies that fact. James Garner exuded his always on display relaxed charisma. Margot Kidder's understated sexiness demonstrated the qualities that would lead her to fame with Superman. Stuart Margolin, who never failed to deliver in his support, was once again solid. Steve forest latched on to our empathy as he delivered a nuanced performance of a man struggling with the effects of his lifestyle being passed by the changing circumstances of time.

The emotionally satisfying conclusion brought it all together and took the viewer home.
