Never a good thing when your dad shows up to your first day on the job, throwing out insults and doing his best to throw you off the game. Fun storyline and good guest stars.

S2 E2: The First Appearance of Christine Sullivan
marcusmontgomery-935264 October 2023
When former public defender Liz Williams (the late Paula Kelly) disappeared after the 1st season, a couple fill-ins were used for the first few episodes of this season, and one of them was Christine Sullivan, played to perfection by the late beautiful and sexy Markie Post.

Originally, Shelley Hack (of Charlie's Angels fame) was meant to play it first, but when her character changed, Hack and producer Reinhold Weege mutually agreed for Hack to not continue with the series. The episode was later reshot with Post.

Post was meant to be Ms. Sullivan from the very beginning but was tied up with ABC's The Fall Guy at the time.

Christine's father (Eugene Roche) shows up for her first day at work as public defender, but embarrasses her in the process, while bailiff Selma Hacker (the late, great Selma Diamond) returns delirious after her surgery and sold the hilarity very well.

When her father tells off Judge Harry Stone (the late Harry Anderson), he puts him in jail for contempt and Ms. Sullivan gets mad at him.

After that, Christine's father was forced to apologize to the judge and her for embarrassing her in the past.

The chemistry between Anderson and Post hasn't fully commenced yet, but she would replace Ellen Foley's Billie Young beginning with Season 3 and would remain for the rest of the series and the rest is history.
