AMAZING episode!

"If it was just your friends here, there'd be like six people. I had to open up to sex partners." ~Brian

In this episode, the conflict between Brian and Dr. David finally reaches its peak in a surprise birthday party for Michael's 30th, organized by Brian himself. The party holds many twists and turns, from Emmett's possible infection with HIV to Tracy's invitation. The tension is at a huge breaking point in this episode, and it eventually comes down to Brian, trying to make a good choice for the betterment of Michael. Overall one of my favorites, even though Justin appears for a very short amount of time. This gets my stamp of approval as one of the best episodes of Season 1.

Warning: Spoilers
I noticed that people don't like Michael but keep on talking about how wonderful Brian is. For real? Sure, it is interesting to show how he is supposed to hurt his friend to make it better, but it is annoying when people make it look as if he did something so great. It is possible to just tell him many times how he has no chance, yell at him, maybe slap him. There is no need to out him and ruin his birthday. And he hurt David too. Brian didn't do it with good intentions, he did it just because he is a selfish prick no matter what his fans say.

Absolutely loved the HIV story. Was so well done by both Ted and Emmett. And poor Emmett he really made me laugh at the end when he said he will not have sex with men anymore since this is what he promised God!

His birthday is WHEN?

Warning: Spoilers
Wait a minute...

It's fall in Queer As Folk world in 110 and 111. At the start of 110, Mel and Lindsay are raking leaves in their front yard, and in 111 when Brian and David are in the latter's driveway, you can see brown leaves on it and on a nearby tree. It's also Michael's birthday. Further, we know we're moving from summer to winter, because back in 107 there was still enough warmth for David and Michael to be getting it on outdoors, but by 115 when David's son Hank visits, it's cold enough for the three of them to go ice skating.

Yet watch season two, the Devina Devore episode (213), and the soldier that Debbie claims was Michael's father died two weeks after Michael was born, and the death date is in April (10?). I still remember having a cow about that when I figured out Michael was born in the last week of March, and was an Aries. Aries runs from March 21 to April 20, and no Aries, including Michael, is having a birthday when the leaves are turning brown and falling off the trees.
