Red's opening monologue provides several seagulls gags, and Red pantomimes a bored man at a concert, a man crying at Irish songs, and a young teeny-bopper dancing. The first sketch, "Appleby the Dreamer", has some serious moments when George realizes he tells tall tales about his life experiences because no one pays any attention to him at home. In these earlier Appleby skits, Mrs. Appleby's first name is unknown and the couple even has a young daughter. The second skit, starring Deadeye, takes place in the local saloon with a western song provided by the Sportsmen Quartet.
