A routine story-line that still plays out well.

Here is a typical script that will be the corner stone of most episodes. It all begins when a young New York novice, Don O'Mahoney, comes out west on an adventure to find someone. Along the way he is greeted to rough life that is unlike anything that he has ever experienced. Lucas and Mark run into Don when he is so exhausted that he falls along the road leading to the McCain ranch. He is watered and fed back to health and begins telling Mark about life in the big city. Mark and all ears as he listens to tales about buildings that are ten stories tall.

The next day Lucas puts Don on a wagon toward North Fork with a freight hauler named Jackson. When they arrive at Jackson's work, things turn bad when the boss accuses Jackson of stealing from the company. Jackson ends up shooting the boss with Don as a witness. Don is able to escape but Jackson now tells the entire town that Don was the shooter. A posse, lead by Marshal Torrance, is set on bring the young dandy to justice. Don only has one friend and that is the even younger Mark McCain.

Again this is a typical story-line that will be played many times in the series run. But there is just something special when a person is falsely accused of a crime and the people with the level heads always seemed to be named McCain. Good watch.

What Mark is really like ...

See, this is the way i'm used to seeing Mark. Completely accepting & admiring anyone different. Always there for the underdog. They should've always written Mark this way instead of sometimes randomly (obviously for the script) portraying him as a bigot/complete little jerkwad! Ya know?!
