The Betrayal
Prismark104 January 2021
Tired of the Sheriff of Nottingham losing the money raised from taxes.

KIng John has a cunning plan. A smear campaign led by Roger de Carnac (Matt Frewer.) The Sheriff has enough headroom to call him Roger de Carnage.

Dressed as Robin and the Merries, they slaughter some villagers and then setting the village on fire.

The outlaws are blamed as the survivors cannot tell the difference between the Merries and the impostors.

Meanwhile King John arrives in Nottingham, kissing babies and handing money to charity. It looks like he has turned over a new leaf to get the people on side.

Robert of Huntingdon, decides to find out what is happening as people start to turn away the Merries from their village.

It is not long before he sees de Carnac and his men changing costumes.

There was a nice scene where the locals give conflicting accounts about Robin Hood to King John. It makes you wonder how did de Carnac manage to copy the Merries?

A nice enough episode if you ignore all the plot holes. Phil Davis chews the scenery and that's when he is just trying to woo Lady Marion.
