Our Men in Marawat
Prismark101 June 2021
After saving the life of Madame Ka, a VIP from the far east country of Marawat.

Marcel St Clair (Charles Boyer) is taken for questioning by Inspector Briscoe to Scotland Yard. His family member Timmy was dressed in a fake police uniform right outside a high end jewellery shop. It was just a coincidence that Marcel was at the right place at the right time.

Madame Ka plans to cause an uprising in Marawat. She knows that a famous hand jewellery adorning the statue of a god is fake. Britain will be accused of stealing it and this will lead to a coup.

Marcel has been tasked to replace it with the real item but it is a dangerous mission as Madame Ka has friends in the military.

If Marcel agrees then Inspector Briscoe will overlook his nefarious intentions regarding the jewellery shop.

Good old Britain was shot in a Hollywood backlot. The windows on the red telephone box are of the wrong size.

It has an old fashioned view of people from the far east. Mesmerism is used on people to make them act in a certain way. At least Madame Ka is shown to be more complex.

Charles Boyer is suave and sophisticated as the Rogue in this story. Robert Coote provides the comedy.
