Terry and Willie are ordered to have police cadets ride along with them.
A good episode, the guest actors do a fine job. One of the cadets, Chet is a cocky punk who thinks he knows it all. He is played by Brad David, he had a good role on "Room 222" a few years before this. The other cadet is Eric, a surly youth offender played by Andrew Parks, who specialized playing baby faced psychos in other 1970s crime shows. It seems Eric's sister (Lorraine Gary, later in "Jaws") is girlfriend to an armed robber (James Luisi, he played many sleazy characters in TV at that time). It all ends in kidnapping and a shootout in a small airport.
