- In the continuing story of Tod and Buz looking for work at the Windus' crop dusting business just outside Phoenix, Arizona, Summers eventually agrees to teach Tod the combined flying/dusting part of the business. Tod is still game despite Summers' pleas to him not to embark on this venture, as Summers believes he is a jinx and that Tod will be killed in the process. This situation may or may not deal with Summers' own seeming death wish. Meanwhile, the business is in financial trouble, and Dora Windus either has to drum up business, or hope that the bank will extend her credit. There is one guaranteed job, but one that Dora refuses to take because of it being related to her husband Jack's death. Both she and daughter Vicki Windus will also have to address the issue of Jack's death, both who have been taking individual dysfunctional means in doing so, which in turn has also soured their mother/daughter relationship. And Buz willingly agrees to be the intermediary between Summers and his ex-wife Christina in dealing with problems in their relationship, despite Buz being in love with Christina himself and believing that she could be the one.—Huggo
