Entertaining but also with some serious logical errors

When you watch the DVDs for "S.W.A.T." it can be very confusing. Although "Time Bomb" is from season two, it's on disc two of season one--and I have no idea why. Despite this, it is an interesting episode due to the casting. You see Street's (Robert Urich) girlfriend, Sheri (Heather Menzies)--who ended up marrying her co-star (Urich) about a month after this episode aired.

The show begins with the team practicing their craft at a movie studio. Apparently, the studio let them use the lot during the weekend when there was no filming. After they finish, Street and his girlfriend return to the lot because he forgot something there--and they stumble on a group of loonies (lead by familiar character actor William Smith) who are planing on blowing up the lot! Can Street somehow let his S.W.A.T. team members know that they're being held prisoner? Or, will they be blown to a bazillion pieces? Although the idea in "Time Bomb" is very unusual, the show also has some serious logical errors. The biggest is that although the thugs murdered the guard at the front gate, somehow they don't kill Street and his girlfriend--even though they know Street is a S.W.A.T. team member. To make it worse, they don't tie them up--they just lock them in a room and ignore them--giving them ample time and opportunity to escape. Later, when Street and Smith are having a macho fist fight, Smith NEVER calls out to his accomplices for help! Finally, the baddies had a VERY detailed map showing the exact location of every bomb--making it awfully easy for the team to eliminate the threat to the studio. Overall, entertaining but stupid.

Not a review, but I noticed a possible correction in airdate...

I'm seeing this episode as listed across newspapers on 'newspapers(dot)com' as airing on April 21 1975. This would follow the 7th episode ("Death Score") of the preceding first season.
