You know, I love these old television shows! Sometimes we get to see a darker, more human side of people like we were able to see in this episode. Shane may be a hero, but he's just like everyone else! My favorite part is at the end when one of the gunfighters shouts out that it wasn't Ryker who harvested the wheat field - it was Johnny Wake! The look on Shane's face was PRICELESS!!! You can push Shane pretty far, but messing with the Starett's was going too far! I loved his comeback that he's keeping the six hundred dollars. Wake pretty much knows he's dead at this point. There's no way the other men are going to allow him to live. I'm not exactly sure why he wanted Shane to kill him instead of the others, except he thinks it would be less shameful or something...but GREAT ending!!! This is probably my favorite of the entire series.

Best Episode of the Entire Series

If every episode had been this good the show wouldn't been canceled regardless of its competition. The farm desperately needed money and Shane only knows one way to earn it. Plenty of drama and human emotion on display here along with great acting. If you only see one of the 17 episodes this is the one!!
