A Fun, Adventurous Episode,
lesleyharris3015 July 2016
Kill the Alligator and Run is a great Simpsons episode with a well written plot and tons of funny moments. It's a very fun viewing as it is packed with adventure, as the Simpsons struggle to escape the law while vacationing in Florida after accidentally killing their mascot, an alligator. The episode did feel like it was cut short, as if the writers had much more ideas in mind that they had no time to do, I think it should have been a two parter to truly capture its potential, an opportunity for expanding a story that the Simpsons have only ever done once, with Who Shot Mr. Burns. It is disliked by many fans of the show, which I do not see why, it has a lot of heart as the family give Homer a taste of the good life after suffering from insomnia, the family bonds together in a very sweet manner and we get a sense that their relationship has grown by the end of it. Funny and somewhat intense, Kill the Alligator and Run is not a highlight of the eleventh season, but it is very enjoyable.

After Homer becomes convinced he does not have long left to live, the Simpsons go to Florida to help sort his mental health.

Simpsons v Florida

Warning: Spoilers
Just months before Florida was at the epicenter of the 2000 election with hanging chads and all, we have this Simpsons Florida-themed episode with Kill the Alligator and Run. I'd say the first half was pure Simpsons, but then the end was like kind of SNL or MAD TV sketches stitched together to draw a laugh or two, along with some famous cameos of course to make The Simpsons what it is.

But then the second half kind of made me realize why this episode really falls outside of the golden era of The Simpsons being the first ten seasons in my humble opinion.

Still the Florida stereotypes were quite hilarious to a point.

A laugh here and there

This episode is decent but it is certainly not a 10 out of 10. One would have to had missed every episode from season 4 through season 10 to say that this is the the funniest Simpson's episode ever. Humor in the Simpson's traditionally is on a higher level than what was portrayed in this episode. It is funny on occasion, but the whole idea of the Simpson's going to spring break is just the producers (probably the Fox Network mostly) trying to pander to ignorant MTV loyalists. This could have very well been a Family Guy episode. Episodes like this are pretty much the beginning of the black whole of mediocrity that the Simpson's fell into for a few years and are just recently getting out of.

Worst. Episode. Ever.(SPOILERS)

Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS

I did not think I could hate a Simpson episode, then this came along. I did not actually think the first thing I would give a one would be a Simpson episode, then this came along. This is the most horrible, awful, abysmal episode of the Simpsons ever. There is not one single good joke in this episode, the plot is just plain dumb, and the writer had to put rappers in it, they just had to.

Well, here is the horrible plot. Homer realizes he only have years to live so he and his family go to Florida. Too bad for them because it is Spring Break and Kid Rock is there. That is not even the beginning. Homer kills the most famous alligator in town, Captain Jack. You see how they got the title for this episode? Anyway, the family is arrested. They escape. They are arrested again. Then it turns out Captain Jack is actually alive. How did that happen? I don't know. Anyway, they are set free, but they can not go to Florida again.

Overall, do not watch this episode. Just do not. It is not good. It is not even remotely good. Also, why is Snake in Florida? Why? How did he get there? How did he get there? Anyway, this episode is just painful to watch so please, please do not watch this episode. You will regret it later in life if you do. I am sure I will regret it, but at least I can tell you not to watch this.

Does not even deserve to have a one.

Funniest Simpson's Episode I Have Seen Yet
vantim-230 January 2006
This episode is totally hilarious, from Homer's paranoia about the T.V. to Spring Break in Florida to Getting in trouble with the local authorities. Even Kid Rocks guest appearance was funny and Homer's response to him is priceless "Mouua" Homer's little pennant that says Mental, great T.V. and the hat that bounces back up on his head, absolutely hysterical this episode is packed with great sight gags, one liners and all around great Simpson's comedy! There is something for everyone in this episode, with political humor, satire, a play on spring break rowdiness, jokes about handcuff's for Maggie, and even one thrown in about Bart and Lisa getting married. You'll have to watch and found out what. 10/10 Highly Recommended
