Poor editing, but still good
Although I'm not surprised to find out this episode was severely edited from the original format, as are many other Sixth Sense episodes, I still enjoyed it, for the most part. If you're lucky enough to catch the rare appearance of this show, which usually shows up as a "Night Gallery" episode unfortunately, you better watch it or you may go another year without seeing this fine, but heavily criticized show. Enough of my rambling, and on to this segment which involves a blind woman(I think), and how her sight is restored after surgery; the kicker is that her "new" eyes are from a female murder victim(I think), and naturally, she sees visions of past murders and a future vision of her own murder, and on comes Dr. Rhodes(Gary Collins)to help her plight. A pre-Happy Days Tom Bosley has a scene or two, and you may recognize Kathleen Lloyd(Magnum, P.I.), who portrays Kathy Turner, the woman seeing the visions. As I mentioned earlier about the poor editing, in one scene she can see fine, then a few minutes later, she loses her sight because of stress, then shortly after that, she can see again. This show, at least this episode, was originally an hour long, but it's cut in half here, and I could really tell this time. Stanley Kamel, who I never heard of before, gives a creepy performance, and a few scenes in the desolate hospital remind me a bit of Halloween II, as the atmosphere worked for me. Percy Rodrigues makes another appearance as Lt. Woods, and I enjoy the chemistry between he and Dr. Rhodes, as they respect each other's profession, and end the show on a light moment when they decide to plan a fishing trip.
