Episode 57 begins with Jessica walking out on her cheating husband Chester,in a hotel room with another woman(Karen Austin).Mary and Burt both visit the doctor(Richard McKenzie),who is amused to hear about Burt's reason behind his insomnia: space lag from being on a spaceship(it takes a little while to readjust to Earth time).Danny tells Burt and Jodie about meeting a widow at the cemetery,lamenting that he forgot to ask for her phone number(Jodie:"who's Peter Dawson?" Burt:"some dead guy,he wants to date his wife!"); when he phones a Peter Dawson,asking what color he is,Burt realizes the full implications of what Danny's getting into("first he marries a gangster's daughter,now he's in love with a black widow!") Jessica meets Billy's teacher Leslie in the classroom(mistaking her for a student),but learns her fears about their relationship are unfounded,since Leslie admits that she is just as capable of being hurt as Jessica's little boy.Jodie receives a surprise visit from Harlen Wisser(Renny Temple),a social worker working on a complaint about a homosexual keeping a baby in his apartment; Jodie almost convinces him that Wendy is his daughter,and would never be subjected to anything harmful,as Chuck and Bob walk in,arguing as usual(surprisingly,Bob loves babies: "they're short,soon as they can talk back,I can't stand them!")
