Rom is due for execution whilst the Cardassians look for a way to take down the minefield.
This is a strong episode with lots of enjoyable character moments.
The focus here is very much on the characters based on Terok Nor and it includes lots of great dialogue exchanges and confrontations between individuals. There are some contrivances (Quark/Damar), but it's not bad enough spoil the experience if you don't take fictional storytelling more seriously than you should.
Kira, Dukat, Weyoun, Odo, Damar, Ziyal, Quark, Rom, and the female changeling are all used very well by the writers in a number of strong scenes. It all leads to a great set up for the next episode.
Sisko and Starfleet have some great moments that develop a lot of excitement for what is likely to come next. The visuals of the fleet together are excellent as always.
Nana Visitor, Marc Alaimo, and Jeffrey Coombs are particularly good, as is Avery Brooks.
