O'Neill and Teal'c set a few olive drab, slightly curved, "FRONT TOWARD ENEMY", booby traps right next to the path. Those are M18A1 claymore mines. When one of those goes off, 1.5 pounds of shaped charge C4 sends out 700 steel balls at over three times the speed of sound. The balls disperse in a 60 degree spread from the mine. Anything within about 150 feet of the front of a claymore is pretty much shredded. Therefore they are usually placed to hit an area at least 50 feet away from the mine.
