Sheppard throws in a stone that disappears. McKay puts a camera on a stick and after viewing the footage concludes it look safe behind the field. Sheppard volunteers to step in, but can't step out anymore. He's pulled in. McKay takes a look at the camera again, he notices the memory is full. - Col. Sheppard is drawn through a doorway or portal of sorts but finds he is unable to return to the other side. He is unaware however that there is a huge time differential between the two sides and in the few hours Dr. Weir and McKay spend devising a plan to rescue him, Sheppard lives for several months with people who are awaiting transition to a higher level of existence. His new friends are terrified of a local creature that regularly appears but the Colonel is a little more direct in dealing with it.—garykmcd
- Before McKay can work out the strange energy picked up from space indicates a time-differentiated zone on the planet they land on for it, Sheppard has attempted to enter through the force field around a cave, only to find he's stuck, unable to leave or end the force field. By trying to hold him back in vain, the others have further disrupted his physical integrity. Mc Kay rushes to push through supplies, fetching from Atlantis, to keep Sheppard alive while aging 250 times faster, while searching for the 'generator' to turn it off. Given his dwindling supplies and inability to communicate, Sheppard left the cave into a bucolic landscape, where a near-invisible monster lurks and attacks, which he's able to defeat somehow, saving the life of a pursued local, who takes him to the 'monastery', where the entire population stays for life, feeling safe from the monster, aspiring 'spiritual ascension', whatever that is, but nobody ever leaves 'earthly'. After they nurse his wounds, healing semi-magically, he bonds with a family and defends them against the monster which penetrates first time. When he is finally contacted by McKay's party, it's time to face the truth about monster and ascension.—KGF Vissers
