One of only two editions from the sixth season to still exist on original colour videotape. The remainder are monochrome domestic video recordings.
For once Harold isn't winding his dad up: from 1915 Sarah Bernhardt did indeed have a wooden leg, although the amputation had probably not occurred at the time of Albert's tale.
Husband and wife team Doreen Casey and Harry Smith Hampshire choreographed the dancing sequences seen in the episode.
Albert states that he went to the Shepherd's Bush Empire to audition for pantomime (Humpty Dumpty) at the age of 13, and sat on Marie Lloyd's knee. As Albert's date of birth is given in a later episode as September 1899, this would most likely have occurred in Autumn/Winter 1912, when Marie Lloyd would be aged 42, and Sarah Bernhardt would have been 67-68.
