Sappy
mm-3931 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Merchants of Death is sappy. Not in a good way either! Gun running and gangs was much better done on Miami Vice, but maybe the 70's were lamer times! With lame names like Kingsman, not the D C comic or bingo people. The acting was okay, but the story has the lame former athlete try to reach at risk kids. Two kids steal machine guns in the most under garden ware house in the U S A. These two kids are lame. Well the script get worse form then on with a laughable end. Well the acting and directing was good, but the script could rival the bad Woke script of today. 5 stars and I am being generous here.

***SPOILERS**** Former gang banger and now community activist as well as car-wash manager Eddie Griffin, Greg Morris, is trying to prevent a gang war between the Dragons and the Kingman. That's after one of the Dragons was murdered by Kingsman head man and war chief Buddy Winston,Michael Mullians, for not paying respect as well as cash to him and his gang for muscling on their pot dealing racket. It's Buddy that found out that teenager's Rudy Hale & Paul Binyon, Michael Kearney & Barry miller, hijacked a shipment of military hardware-M 16's and .45 automatics-off the San Francisco docks and shakes them down to get the weapons so he and his gang would have the firepower to send the Dragon's straight to kingdom come!

Our heroes in all this Det. Let. Mike Stone, Karl Malden, and his partner Inspector Steve Keller, Michael Douglas, get the lowdown to what's about to come down from scared out of his wits security guard Carl Hendrix,Richard O'Brien, after Buddy and his boys worked him over for ratting them out to the police in Dragon member George Chang, George Cheung, murder as well as connecting him to the stolen guns.

****SPOILERS**** It's car wash manager Eddie Griffin who drops a dime, in calling the police, in getting Det. Let. Mike Stone and Inspector Keller as well as a squad of San Francisco's finest-the SFPD- to the scene in order to prevent the gang war between the Dragons and their allies the Centurions with the Kingsmen from going viral. Buddy who was more then ready to shoot it out turned yellow, when his gang members in seeing the police come on the scene checked out, and ran for his life dropping the M-18 he had on him which he didn't quite, not being in the US Army, know how to handle. Now facing Juvenal court and a 2 to 5 year stretch behind bars Buddy can finish his education in getting a high school diploma and, after his release from prison, become a productive, in washing cars at Eddie Griffin's car-wash, as well as law abiding citizen!
