Starts out strong, but get a little slow in the middle.

Warning: Spoilers
The Thrill Killers: Part 1 is Michael Douglas Swan song. Michael after the hit series was heading for Hollywood to launch a move career. Douglas, just like dad, became a movie stars. Starts out with a radical Bay Area group is on trial there is a court scene, and we find out Hatch (Douglas replacement) the new character is being introduced. The Keller character is going to take a professorship at the University, and Stone is devastated. Watching the intro one see Douglas charisma which drove the show, and why Streets ending this last season without him. Would be like Don Johnson leaving Miami Vice there would be no show. Well there is an exciting kidnapping of the jury and a hostage situation. The viewer experience how Hatch is a colder more ex military character then Keller. Just as competent, but not as entertaining. Well The Thrill Killers Part 1 see the real reason why Keller took the new Job, after a shooting which bothered the detective left some doubt about with the job, and the climax show Keller paid the price with losing Keller's edge. Well directed and acted. Still a good show so far! 7 stars.

Warning: Spoilers
Good seventies TV series- I bought it to watch the episode "The Thrill Killers" and the late Patricia Mattick. Karl Malden and Michael Douglas were awesome-this episode shows a transition from 1976 where Michael Douglas was leaving the series and Richard Hatch entered as Karl Malden's new partner, Detective Robbins. This 2 part episode revolves around an SLA-like group of radicals that kidnaps the jury trying the case of one of its leaders (The Tannengers-Nick and Marie) in hopes of freeing them through an exchange. The group and jury are comprised of an outstanding ensemble of seventies character actors, such as Patty Duke, Susan Dey, and many more. Its a great episode and it was broadcast the last year before cancellation.
