- Laurie moves from home to a flat with a roommate. She lies to Red about living with another man. Red 'forgets' Eric for her room and assigns it to Hyde. Red wants to know when Eric is leaving the house. Hyde moves his limited stuff into Laurie's room. Hyde knows that Laurie will miss her old room. Fez finds Hyde's new room very feminine. He remarks that people will see this room and think Hyde is gay.
As if it wasn't bad enough, Laurie tells Kelso he won't get to cheat on Jackie with her at that flat, he was only good 'when there's nothing on TV'. Laurie says that there was nothing between them to begin with, and hence there is nothing to "break up". Laurie manages to have Jackie witness her returning his green T-shirt from her room. Jackie's suspicion with Kelso cheating on her grows. Kelso claims that it is Eric's shirt, even though his name is sewn into the shirt by Kelso's mother.
Jackie talks to Donna and only wants an assurance that there is nothing going on between Kelso and Laurie. Donna is no help giving the fake reassurance the fake, bossy 'girl-friend' craves. Hyde enjoys toying with helplessly non-manipulative Michael's torment. Kelso is angry that Hyde almost got him caught in front of Jackie and Hyde promises Kelso that if he gets caught, his fun would be over, so Hyde is only trying to prolong his suffering.
Hyde tutors Kelso on how to talk his way out of the interrogation from Jackie. But Fez encourages Kelso to tell Jackie the truth. Fez hopes that Jackie will dump Kelso and come to him. Jackie goes off script though, but Kelso doesn't have to admit that he cheated on her. Jackie threatens to kill Michael if she found out he was lying.
Eric's moment comes next morning, when Red drags him along to check if his favorite's daughter is doing OK. He is worried if Jackie's new place is fireproof. Red finds Laurie in bathrobe with hunky Mike, who opens the door in his underwear. Red simply walks away and Eric is in splits looking at the expression on Laurie's face.
Kitty still invites Laurie for dinner, as it is just one boy, and it could have been worse. At dinner, Red is mad at Laurie and believes that nobody will step up to marry her if she continues on her sexually promiscuous ways. Even Eric feels bad about how Laurie is feeling right now. Kitty encourages Laurie to tell the truth to her father, but she is belligerent and won't accept the truth that she is taking advantage of the family's trust.
Kitty also talks to Red and explains that Laurie is an adult now and Red needs to accept that as a good father. Red talks to Laurie and she wants to move back in. Kitty guesses that her boyfriend kicked her out, but Laurie corrects her that he simply moved back with his wife.
Hyde puts up a fight before vacating the room before Red intervenes.
