Janice Rule's character, Helen Foley, was a tribute to Rod Serling's drama teacher (of the same name) at Binghamton Central High School.
Lead character Helen Foley was also the name of the lead character in the remake of "It's a Good Life" for Twilight Zone- the Movie in 1983. Kathleen Quinlan portrays Helen Foley who ultimately befriends "the monster". The original segment did not have Helen Foley as a character but did see Billy Mumy play the monster.
Terry Burnham who plays Markie also shared the screen with Shepperd Strudwick later in same year in Thriller (1960) : "The Mark of the Hand (1960)" with him playing the part of her father.
