Distress for all in a useless 'tug of war'...
arrival3 September 2010
Warning: Spoilers
April, 1916, Hazel Bellamy goes to see James' Colonel in order to get him posted back to the front. This causes puzzlement for those who know her, as they do not realise that she is only doing this to make life more bearable with James - and because it is what he wants - not she herself.

After Ruby having left for war-work in the last episode - others are getting 'itchy feet' too! This time it's Rose's turn. The only problem is, it was Daisy's idea, and Rose steals her newspaper cutting to beat her to it! This leaves Daisy understandably angry, swearing never to speak to Rose ever again...

Georgina is awarded her own patient 'Mrs. Carbury' in the hospital ward where she works. In doing so, Georgina is responsible for her wholly. After a night out and arriving back at the hospital too late to get back in, she arrives the next morning to find that her patient has died, and had asked for her during the night... This affects Georgina deeply at first, but eventually - the selfish person she is, soon gets over it. Nevertheless, there are some very moving scenes in this episode.

This episode also features a small role for real-life sister of Simon Williams (James Bellamy) - the late Polly Williams as 'Lady Viola Courtney', also the late wife of Nigel Havers, who would also appear himself briefly in the final series of 'UD' set in the roaring 20s.
