Mark feels left out by not being a jock like his brothers.
This episode is not as excellent as the last couple of shows but still has some nice character moments. It reinforces the boys' personalities with David as the surrogate "father" in Michael's absence, Willie as the scrappy "all boy" one and Mark as the studious, dweeby one.
There is some brotherly love shown when David forges the consent form so Mark can join the wrestling team and also when Willie hides the fact he got into three fights defending his brother -- whom the other kids have nicknamed "Helpless Hogan".
Val's concern for Mark is justified, which makes the scene where she crashes the wrestling meet and inadvertently humiliates him very believable.
