Sci-Fi & Volcano Disaster
StuOz11 August 2010
Victor Jory seeks elixir stones from a volcano to extend his life.

Irwin Allen television shows have a tradition of beginning with mind-blowing season openers. With Lost In Space it was The Reluctant Stowaway, Blast Off Into Space and Condemned Of Space. With Voyage/Sea it was Eleven Days To Zero, Jonah And The Whale and Monster From The Inferno. I went to Fires Of Death expecting another mind-blowing experience and got a golden "Chip" and amazingly bad Seaview miniature effects at the start.

But this is still a six out of ten hour as we get some great material from Basehart and guest star Victor Jory, the volcano sets are cool and it is about time we left the good ship Seaview for once.

In reality this was not the season opener at all, in production order it was actually The Man Of Many Faces that came first.
