When the FS1 is docking, it's heading for the Seaview shown on the bottom. Immediately after it's going into it's bay and the Seaview is on the surface.
The diving bell's at about 38,000 feet depth. At that depth, there is absolutely no light.
When Dr. Braddock shoots the admiral, there's mass in the arm of the shirt and the uniform rolls and falls down. When Braddock looks at the uniform in the chair, it's flat and limp.
Chip tells the crew to shoot to kill on sight. The crewmen are walking around without their weapons drawn. The Admiral and others are casually walking around while there is a mad killer loose and without guns drawn.
It is incredibly irresponsible of Crane to make the second experimental dive in the diving bell when he knows there is a murderous creature rampaging aboard the Seaview.
Nelson deduces that the civilian Dr. Braddock in his beast form is the one that killed the mopping crewman in the corridor, not the Crane Beast. However, the Beast that attacked the crewman and Sharkey is wearing an officer's uniform and if you look closely, you will see that it's wearing a ring on it's left hand similar to the one Crane normally wears.
Unless Dr. Braddock normally carries around a spare uniform and ring just for these circumstances, the evidence shows that it was the Crane Beast that did it.

Nelson states that the Crane Beast is in no condition to handle a gun.
But apparently it can launch the diving bell solo.
