- TriviaLucille refers to Little House On The Prairie as a wholesome show she lets the family watch, describing it as a "show about blind children." Little House On The Prairie was WKRP's most popular competition for its first two seasons, and Hugh Wilson once joked that whenever WKRP was gaining in the ratings, "Little House would blind another kid."

- Quotes
Phil Tarry: [as the Tarleks watch television together] Lucille?
Lucille Tarlek: Yes, Phil?
Phil Tarry: Does your family watch a lot of television?
Bunny Tarlek: It's on all the time.
Lucille Tarlek: Oh, honey, that's not so. We do watch a little.
Elaine Parker: Are you careful what you allow the children to watch?
Lucille Tarlek: Yes indeed, we are.
Elaine Parker: For instance?
Lucille Tarlek: Well, we only allow them to watch wholesome, family entertainment.
Elaine Parker: Like what?
Lucille Tarlek: Oh, well... The Little House in the Prairie, that's a fine, wholesome show. It's about blind children out west, and every week they have a fire, or someone gets an incurable disease. We enjoy it very much!
- Alternate versionsIn the 90's redistribution package and DVD release, the opening theme to Real Families is replaced by a different generic theme and thus has a different announcer (which is unfortunate because the original announcer was Johnny Olsen from The Price Is Right). Most of the rock songs that WKRP plays are still present, except for the ones that underscore Bailey and Venus's explanations about the dancing ducks promotion. "She's So Cold" by The Rolling Stones (Bailey's song) has been replaced by a song by Jackson Browne. "Once in a Lifetime" by the Talking Heads (Venus's song) has been replaced by instrumental new wave music. In both cases, the dialogue is intact.

Such is the case of this different episode, which is framed from the viewpoint of the fictional "Real People"-type show,"Real Families", which chooses to follow the life of everyone's favorite sleazy radio ad salesman. The hosts(Peter MArshall and DAphne Maxwell, later Reid)are first seemingly jovial hosts and curious interlopers, only to steadily turn into invasive, insensitive voyeurs. The hand-held camera shots and out-of-studio lighting are set in to take this away from the setting of the radio station and make this practically Herb and his family's show.
Great performances by Frank Bonner,Edie McClurg(as Herb's choicely oblivious wife)and even the kids(names escape me at the moment).fill out this episode, one of a number of highly unique shows which populated this fantastic TV series.
