President Bartlett and Dr. Takehashi are said to have shared the Nobel Prize in Economics. But technically, there is no "Nobel Prize" for Economics. The "Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel" was established in 1968 by a donation from Sweden's central bank, not by Alfred Nobel in his will. This common misunderstanding is exactly the sort of trivia on which President Bartlett would normally be expected to comment, but he never does.
