Roger Thomas : Mama, have I got something to tell you!
Mama : [angry] You took the words right out of my mouth.
Roger Thomas : It's about that girl I've been helping with her studies.
Mama : [angry] Those are the words!
Roger Thomas : [thinking he's telling Mama and his father Bill that he's getting a puppy from the girl he's been tutoring] Well, I haven't been doing it for nothing, she's giving me something!
Bill Thomas : [shocked, thinking Raj got the girl pregnant] We know that, son.
Roger Thomas : [happy] Oh, you do?
Mama : [angry] We know all about it. I called Mrs. Williams.
Roger Thomas : [still happy] Oh, you did!
Mama : [quietly angry] Yes, I did. And, all I want to know is... why?
Bill Thomas : [surprised] Why?
Mama : Why did you get mixed up with this girl in the first place?
Roger Thomas : Well, I guess it was for the money.
Bill Thomas : [shocked] For the money?
Mama : [shocked] You did it for the money?
Roger Thomas : Yeah, I'm even thinking about doing it for a living.
Mama : [very angry, screams, lunges at Raj] What? Give me your belt, I'm gonna kill you! I'm gonna kill him, Bill, I'm gonna kill him.
Fred 'Rerun' Stubbs : [Rerun and Dwayne enter the Thomas living room] Hey, give him the news, Dwayne!
Mama : [very angry, yells] No news! I want you all to get out of here. We're having an intelligent conversation about killing Roger!
Roger Thomas : [scared of Mama, now hiding behind Dwayne] But wait a minute, Mama, they're in on this too!
Mama : [very angry, yells] What?
Roger Thomas : Yeah, they helped me get started.
Dwayne Nelson : [scared] What are you talking about?
Roger Thomas : You know, our big business venture
[referring to the three of them raising puppies and selling them]
Roger Thomas : .
Fred 'Rerun' Stubbs : Oh, that's right Mrs. Thomas, we all did our share.
Mama : [reacts with disgust] Little Dwayne too?
Dwayne Nelson : [proudly] Oh, the whole thing was my idea! But, you know, of course Raj did all the real work.
Bill Thomas : [hearing too much, Mama faints into Bill's arms. He catches her, struggles to keep her on her feet] You boys ought to be ashamed of yourself. Look what you're putting Roger's mother through... and me! Disgraceful! Just disgraceful!
Roger Thomas : [upset] Okay, if it's going to cause this much trouble, I'll just call the whole thing off!
Bill Thomas : Do you think it's that easy?
Roger Thomas : It is, just watch
[calls Mrs. Williams on the phone]
Roger Thomas : . Hello, Mr's Williams? This is Roger Thomas, is your daughter home? She was going to call me, why? Really? She had them!
[hearing this, Mama faints again]
Roger Thomas : . Susie's a mother! She had four male and two female!
[to Patreece on the phone]
Roger Thomas : How did you do? Oh... okay... uh huh...
[hangs up phone, dejected. Walks over to his ailing Mama, whom Bill his holding on her feet]
Roger Thomas : . Well, you can relax now, Mama, it's all over, there's no problem.
Mama : [regains her strength, gets back on her feet] Just like that?
Bill Thomas : [relieved after Mama gets up from being held up by Bill] Oh, thank you son!
Roger Thomas : [dejected] Yeah, just like that. I won't be getting any of the puppies.
Mama : [surprised] What puppies?
Roger Thomas : One of Susie's puppies. That's what Mrs. Williams was going to give me for helping her daughter Patreece pass a test.
Mama : [slowly realizes that she was wrong, and that Susie is a dog who gave birth to puppies] Puppies? Puppies. It's puppies. Susie's a dog?
[starts to laugh with relief]
Mama : Sure, puppies! Of course it's, puppies?
[Bill is trying to stifle his laughter in the background]
Mama : Why not, puppies?
[Mama falls on the couch, laughs hysterically with relief]
Mama : Puppies!
Roger Thomas : [confused] Mama, what did you think we were talking about?
Mama : [changes tone, looks up at Roger with skeptical look] Hmmmm?
