So the audience is packed, the entertainment begins. What will they do about No-Sammy? Shirley is emcee.
In no order, tho I think Raj and Dee sang first, "We're Havin' A Party, While Momma's Away" Watch for a funny moment when Raj does a spin and ties up his ankles in the microphone cord.
Then I think we had Dewayne on the drums. In between each performance, the audience gives way with "We want Sammy, We want Sammy!" and oh yes, look for that fella who has been a staple in endless episodes sitting right in the front, plainly visible by the camera.
So then Little Earl does his Steve Martin imitation.
"We want Sammy! We want Sammy!" Then without a doubt, one of the most banal, Raj sings "Believe In Yourself" from The Wiz, with such phony sincerity.
"We want Sammy! We want Sammy!" Then the episode does its enormous trick.
Dee comes out and tells everyone Sammy won't be there, and that if all they came there for was Sammy Davis Jr, then they don't deserve Sammy OR the youth center.
She then asks if anybody wants their money back and the audience is silent.
Amazing.
But they're not done yet! Oh, no! NOW Rerun is going to come out and SING! The man who promised Sammy Davis Jr and Didn't deliver him, is going to SING! "We're havin' a party, while Momma's away, . . . " Fade to applause.
