The large actor, Burl Ives, makes an appearance as Jonathan Dwire a man with a chip on his shoulder after getting out of prison after fourteen years of incarceration. The person that put him away is a former Major Ralph McConnell that now lives in town with his family, the same town that Dwire decides to visit. It seemed that McConnell put Dwire in prison to make himself look good and get a promotion. Now Dwire is in town to settle the score.
McConnell has a beautiful daughter named Nancy and Dwire gets under the Major's skin by just talking with her. He even tried to get Dwire arrested just for talking to his daughter. When Dwire shows up at a church social dance, it will set in motion events that Dwire has been planning for fourteen years.
Burl Ives is excellent in this story of revenge in which he uses his large frame to perfection. It really made the story more interesting and entertaining by letting Ives use his assets to bring the story across on the screen. This was a surprising episode that was well written and well performed.
