This little movie here was made by German director Wolfgang Becker ("Goodbye Lenin!") shortly before the 2006 Soccer World Cup in Germany and was supposed to get us in the mood I guess. We see people play soccer at all kinds of unusual locations, see the impact of the game at fashion shows for example and finally witness how soccer can be connected to all kinds of other sports, such as boxing, figure skating, tennis etc. Some of the scenes were funny, some not so much. German soccer legend Franz Beckenbauer has a little cameo and he is also the one mostly responsible for getting Germany the permission to host this huge event. Germany "only" managed to become third, but took the crown last year. Okay little movie for soccer fans, but nothing really extraordinary.
