The show is about a group of 30-somethings who pretty much talk about sex nonstop. I am not a prude. But I found the pilot "Our Thirties" very smutty because so many of the jokes were about sex. Again, I am no prude...but the sexual comments were almost non-stop...a sure sign that instead of good writing, the show was relying on shock value. Perhaps this is why the show was never approved as a series. Or, perhaps the network was nervous about all the gay jokes in the show. As for me, I would MUCH rather have had a show about gay folks as people...not just punchlines.
Aside from seeing Rashida Jones before her success in "Parks and Recreation", I couldn't find a lot about this one to like. Plus, seeing her play a woman who sadly was often referred to as a slut (instead of a REAL person), there wasn't a lot to recommend this pilot. Overall, it's shallow and unfunny.
