Why is this not out on video?
DrWhoBob1 October 2007
For those who are familiar with Wayland Flowers and Madam from their appearances on Hollywood Squares, they will find this performance a little, "el differente" as Madam would say, herself. Madam is in rare form with her commentaries, from her "fuzzy" (a long, furry, flat dead thing) to her "Summer Diamonds" (summer diamonds, summer not). We also get a visit from Crazy Mary. I laughed myself silly the only time I go to watch this special. Language is rough; not for those expecting a G rated bit of comedy they'd expect to hear from a game show. However, if you don't mind raunchy, this show is extremely funny and I wish it would come out on video.

How Dated Can One Get?
arfdawg-123 March 2024
Maybe this was funny 45 years ago when it appeared on Showtime, but today it's severely dated and rather boring.

Henny Youngman is up front telling old used up jokes from the borscht belt ("My mother is 88 and never uses glasses. She drinks straight from the bottle.")

It's really hard to watch because it's so dumb. It makes you long for more Henny Youngman the jokes are so bad. What makes it worse is the clearly phony laugh track in the background throughout. And no wonder. It's simply void of any humor.

It's basically a puppet of an old lady telling dirty jokes. This would never go over today.
