Kudos to VH1 for airing this. As it is known on February 3rd 1959 that "The Day the Music Died." As the three deaths of three stars that were up and coming nearly buried rock n roll music.

Plus the loss of innocence among the youth of that generation. We see the families of the three fallen stars and the actors of Lou Diamond Philips and Gary Busey who both played Valens and Holly respectively in bio movies.

Plus three stars how their roots in music came. And how they influenced music of Latin, Comedy, Rock-Country, etc.

How the Winter Dance Party came about despite freezing winter temperatures in the Midwest and how the three did not want to take another night on the bus and boarded the fateful flight that killed the 21-year old pilot, Roger Peterson often the forgotten victim.

Wished that they would make a movie on this as it would be interesting. Due to Don McClean's "American Pie" hence the title, it helped new generations remember the three.

They really did not die but live within our hearts and minds. How Clearlake IA the site of the crash, and the Surf Ballroom where they played their last ever concert. That has become a historic place for rock and roll fans past, present, and even future.

Music Lives On through those three!
