Sweet Seymour Skinner's Baadasssss Song

I confess I don't know what the title is a reference to, it certainly isn't mentioned during the episode. The episode was however very good, a definite classic, Bart and Skinner's unlikely friend, the dog in the vents was very funny indeed and Flanders as Principal was even better, I thought he was a perfect comedy replacement for Skinner.

Principal Skinner is fired from Springfield Elementary School.

This is a memorable episode with strong humour and memorable character moments for Skinner and Bart.

There are two aspects of the story I like. Firstly the initial scenes of madness that lead up to Skinner's dismissal. This includes great sight gags, a solid movie tribute and strong use of the character Groundskeeper Willy.

All the following scenes involving Skinner and Bart are not just funny, but a nice little arc between the two characters. Skinner is written as the archetypal single man. The final visual gag is a perfect way to finish it.

A superb episode, in fact the 100th episode of The Simpsons, and definitely worthy. Anyway, here we see a special bond develop between Principal (well ex-Principal) Skinner and Bart, after Bart gets Skinner fired. It really ain't the same with Skinner no longer in charge, and Bart does his utmost to bring Skinner back, and it happens that Ned Flanders, who became the principal, was acting religiously in a way that offended Superintendent Chalmers, so that led Skinner to resume the principal's chair.

All's well that ends well. For me, the first 10 seasons of The Simpsons represents the golden years.

The 100th

Warning: Spoilers
So here, it is, the 100th episode of 'The Simpsons'.

And it's a good one that explores the relationship between Bart and Skinner after the rebel gets the Principal sacked.

The best episodes of the show for me are the ones that mix humour and heart, and this episode ticks that box.

This was a nice way to mark the 100th.
