I sleep on a big bed with my wife

Millhouse's parents get divorced as Homer tries to make more of an effort with his marriage.

This is a good character episode, but the comedy is slightly lacking for me.

I think there are only so many times you can see Homer make a big effort to prove his love for Marge or the children. The idea of the divorce to get remarried is good, but the rest of his arc feels like ground covered previously.

The Van Houten scenes are the best for me, with some nicely made (and fairly dramatic) moments between Luann and Kirk. However, I mostly watch the Simpsons to laugh and whilst it does have some good relationship humour it is not one I would rush to rewatch.

So many memorable moments: "It's dignity!" "I sleep in a racing car. Do you?" "Stoners Pot Palace" "It's a pretty standard stunt, Homer." "Who likes the Doobie Brothers? Because we've got one of them!" "I'll be back. Pr- probably..."

Van Houten v Van Houten

Definitely A Milhouse Divided is really one of those very special episodes that is the hallmark of many series like Diff'rent Strokes an The Facts of Life, and I think the separation of the Van Houtens really hits hard on fans who went through the divorce of their parents init. Anyway, if you were to introduce The Simpsons to someone who hasn't watched it before, I wouldn't recommend they start with A Milhouse Divided, as it's a bit too depressing and it could trigger init. Anyway, I guess The Simpsons wanted to focus on reality and they did so very much with A Milhouse Divided and the social impact.

Just Didn't Grab Me

The Van Houtens get into a mega-fight at the Simpson's dinner party. This leads to some real second guessing. I know it's all animation but I found the whole thing quite depressing.
