A rotten day for almost everyone....
planktonrules29 January 2012
Three members of the study group have a rough day. First, when the always over-eager Hart asks Professor Kingsfield about a case after class ends, Kingsfield assigns him a HUGE analysis of the case--and it's due in the morning! Considering Hart is practically insane trying to get his work done, he's now frantic--so frantic he rides his bike directly into the path of an oncoming car! Second, when Logan makes a relatively innocent comment to some high school girls, it turns into a riot and she is arrested! Third, despite Bell having produced a wonderful outline for the study group, he becomes frantic when he loses it. This leaves Anderson to be a grumpus during the episode--and he constantly complains to Ford since the group is not functioning.

Not a bad episode at all. However, because the plot is a bit diffuse, it is also not one of the more memorable ones. Not bad however.

Warning: Spoilers
This is the one in which the hot editor of the Law Review gets Hart into the law library after hours and he practically has an orgasm, not because he's alone with the sexy woman (played by Darleen Carr), but because he's surrounded by "all this greatness" (the law books and Kingsfield's own original notes on contract law). James Stephens, as always, is fabulous, and Darleen Carr is brilliant and sexy ("Work, Hart. Every damn minute. Work -- and play."). In general, the first season was better than the second (and the third and fourth are forgettable), and, for my money, this is the best of the first season, meaning it's also the best of the entire series. Darleen Carr had a long career, mostly of one-shot guest-starring roles, but this is the part I always remember her for.
