As Friends Rust and Strike Anywhere were touring Europe together at the time that this concert was filmed.
The two bands had first toured together in the United States from June 1st-30th, 2000, while As Friends Rust was promoting "The Fists of Time: An Anthology of Short Fiction and Non-Fiction" (released through Doghouse Records) and Strike Anywhere was promoting "Chorus of One" (released through No Idea Records). Following that tour, the two bands discussed releasing a split 7" vinyl of Tom Petty covers through Dim Mak Records, but the release was abandoned.
The two bands reteamed for a two-month European tour which spanned from October 5th to December 5th, 2001. As Friends Rust was promoting their debut full-length "Won" (released through Doghouse Records, Defiance Records and Howling Bull Records) as well as a re-issue of "Eleven Songs" (released through Golf Records), while Strike Anywhere was promoting their debut full-length "Change Is a Sound" (released through Jade Tree Records).

This concert was filmed during the last As Friends Rust tour with their original singer Damien Moyal, who left the band in February of 2002.
Although the footage was filmed when As Friends Rust was still in its prime, the video was only released a year later, by which time the band had gone through several line-up changes, and the remaining members opted to change the band's name to Salem.
