Excellent documentary on a segment of gay culture most are unaware of.

This documentary goes into detail about the formation of a Gay Rugby team in a straight NYC league. The director goes through a great deal of effort to document why a group of gay men would join such a rough sport, what keeps them coming back, and how they deal with their straight opponents. Specifically, the documentary follows several men as they describe their own motivations and experiences.

The story mixes sexual identity, stereotypes, discrimination, and 9/11 into an informative and enjoyable narrative. And, if that wasn't enough, you get to learn a few rowdy bar songs!

I saw the film at the Tampa International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. The audience reaction was favorable.

A must see documentary

A very good documentary on the evolution the Gotham Knights RFC from its inception to the first win. It is a well crafted documentary showing the impact of a sport on the lives of gay men.

The excitement and action of rugby are incorporated into the film giving the viewer a real immediacy to being at the games. The interviews that profile some of the players make it an intimate view of personal growth. Most of all you come to understand the development of a group of men into a cohesive team.

This movie is well worth seeing - find it, see and then get your friends to go see it.
