No big deal but a good dose of black humor.

Who,but Jean-Pierre Mocky ,could cast in the same movie Chabrol's supporting actor Dominique Zardi ,pop singer Renaud and Alison Arngrim ,the nasty Nellie Oleson of "little house " fame (whose French is thoroughly excellent )?

A weird cast for a weird movie ,it's a golden rule of this maverick director who produced movies by the dozen , most of the time ignored by the public ; erratic best depicts his career , which spanned half a century all the same!

"Le deal" is no big deal but it has its moments of black humor: an executive ,Hervé Radius (sic) kills his mistress but there's a witness,Victor, who blackmails him in a very special way : he won't say a word to the police as long as he can stay in his comfortable apartment. But Victor accidentally dies and Hervé hides him in his fridge .And to make the matters worse,a police detective considers him a suspect ;so the only course open to the murderer is to find persons who can provide him with an alibi.

No big deal ,but some fun for Mocky's fans .
