- Vera's breast is seen during sex. Glimpse of Vera's and Caitlin's breasts as they bathe together.
- There are a few other scenes where sex is implied, either via noise coming from another room, or shown with a blanket covering both characters.

- There is one protracted WWII scene with much gun fire, a scene where one character is in a violent labor that flashes back and forth between her husband having to amputate a soldiers arm on the battlefield.
- A few domestic and barroom squabbles with some slapping, or Caitlin beating Dylan's head against the floor.
- One scene involving a neighbor wrenching his rifle away from his wife, knocking her out in the process, and then shooting up the neighbor's house, culminating with him threatening to blow every one up with a grenade.
