- Todor, a small Serbian smuggler, carries cases of contraband cigarettes from fake fishing boats to middlemen working from an old wharf. Lonely burnt, caught between painful memories of the past and a useless present, he saves money to buy an isolated land somewhere in Herzegovina. One day, under pressure, he reluctantly accepted a commission to deliver a large wooden crate. Almost immediately, he begins to regret his decision. Back home, he carries a heavy tarp and begins to unpack it on his kitchen table. Inside is the body of a young woman - still alive but heavily drugged, dirty, bruised and wearing nothing but a tattered cotton tunic. nor can he take the woman to the hospital. He has to take care of herself - the last thing he wants to do. When the woman, Nilofar, eventually returns, she immediately assumes that Todor is yet another of his executioners and reacts fiercely. But once she realizes that she is safe, she reveals certain details of her traumatic ordeal, although her place of origin remains a mystery. Her body still shows signs of the torture she endured. Before being overtaken by her traffickers, she desperately needed to go to Paris. Now without money or documents, she finds herself trapped in the walls of another broken past. Todor's only hope of getting out of this predicament is to acquire a fake passport for her before the contraband network catches up with them both, but it is expensive and will take time. Paradoxically, her attempts to get rid of her only cause her more problems and anxiety. Meanwhile, as Nilofar begins to heal and evolve, new clues to his identity begin to appear through his song of mesmerizing beauty.
