i'm a teacher of year 1 kids in england and they love this series! it may be 12 years old but still feels quite fresh! it's funny for me cos i know Rowland Rivron as a comedian and for holiday programmes with his unruly brood, i was fairly surprised to see him in this. He plays Alf, who is a quite dense pizza shop owner with his amazingly over enthusiastic female friend whose name escapes me at this time. The programmes focus on Year one science topics including 'push and pull' 'light and dark' etc with the puppet cat characters providing a 'sesame street' approach which really appeals to the children. It has a documentary style part with people such as Jenny Powell and Shauna Lowry on location explaining the scientific areas in more detail then goes back to the actors explaining things in a humorous way for kids. I think it's great even though the girl in the programmes drives me mental with her over acting but seriously the kids are SO enthusiastic about it and look forward to watching it! so if you teach year 1 it's great!
