When Tommy and Raymond go falconing, Tommy exits his car and proclaims, "Turning and turning in the widening gyre...." Raymond asks him if that's from a poem. Tommy responds, "And then some, dude." The line is the first line of the poem "The Second Coming" by William Butler Yeats, which begins: "Turning and turning in the widening gyre/ The falcon cannot hear the falconer/ Things fall apart/ the centre cannot hold...."
