IndiePix has picked up The Crooked Eye for distribution today. The negotiated deal will put the film in the IndiePix library for at least three years. This tale stars Academy Award winner Linda Hunt and Fay Masterson in a story that captures the surreality of dreams. The 26th Annual Miami International Film Festival (Miff) has selected seven films, including Demi Moore directed "Streak," from the United States to compete in their shorts program this March. A total of nineteen highly regarded films with women-centric story lines, are selected from all over the world.
"Streak," about a college senior struggling with self-acceptance, is directed by Demi Moore and stars Brittany Snow, Madeline Zima and Demi's daughter, Rumer Willis. The film is inspired by a true story that was submitted to Glamour Magazine's Reel Moments contest.
After generating interest at Cannes, Venice and The Hamptons, the Natalie Portman's directorial debut, "Eve," is another high-profile short selected by Miff. The film stars Lauren Bacall, Ben Gazzara and Olivia Thirlby in a story that revolves around a girl who accidentally intrudes on her grandmother's romantic date.

The 20-minute drama "The Crooked Eye" has been selected to be screened in competition for the 26th annual Miami International Film Festival.
The film short, which was filmed entirely on green screen for two days, is based on the short story of the same name by Betty Malicoat. It stars Fay Masterson, Katherine Boecher, and D.C. Douglas, and is narrated by Linda Hunt.
Douglas, the author's son, adapted, directed and edited the film that is described as an internal psychological portrait.
The Miff will be held from March 6 to 15, 2009.
