This is one of two episodes from "Nova" that are together packaged on the DVD "Arctic Passage: Nova". This particular one concerns the doomed Franklin Expedition and asks the important question--what was their fate? Back in the 1840s, a British expedition tried to find a northwest passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific through Canada. Unfortunately, no one from the expedition returned and rescue parties sent only came up with scant evidence--some evidence that the British government refused to accept. Now, given new discoveries and a 1980s scientific examination of two corpses buried early in the expedition (which were the subject of an earlier "Nova" episode--a great one at that) as well as newer evidence, they piece together a portrait of what appears to have happened. Using lots of nice historical recreations and various interviews, they created an excellent documentary--one well worth your time.
